To be able to look at the solar eclipse, you needed to get special solar eclipse glasses to maximise your protection from damage from the sun. We found that people who searched for the glasses online were less likely to search 'my eyes hurt' or other injuries involving eyes.

People went crazy after seeing the president look directly at the eclipse without protection. Following his actions, many people thought it was okay to look when it really wasn't.
